Dr. Greg Nielsen
A couple of weeks ago, one of the physicians in my office passed away unexpetedly. Dr. Greg Nielsen was very welcoming when I joined the practice two and a half years ago. As a brand new nurse practitioner, I had a ton of questions and often turned to him for advice. He was always very patient and helped me out with a tough diagnosis on countless occasions.
He funeral was a few days after he died and was one of the most beautiful services that I have ever attended. I only knew the 'Dr' side of him, but at the funeral I came to know a little more about him as a father, husband, brother, son, and friend. He was a kind, loving and patient person, and I miss him.
Last week, a local news station profiled his life. Here is the story. I looked up to him (literally) and try to remember his example each day that I practice medicine.
